Investment properties such as securities and dividends, as well as matured life insurance policies, follow a 3-year dormancy rule. Uniquely, mineral proceeds have a specific dormancy period of 2 years.

Louisiana has a very low aggregate limit of $10. This effectively requires holders to provide detailed owner information for the vast majority of reportable items to facilitate reunification.
