EscheatFix offers a privacy-centric solution for CPAs to validate and convert holder data into the compliant NAUPA II or NAUPA III XML formats. Wisconsin Reporting Specifics
Wisconsin's unclaimed property statutes generally enforce a 5-year dormancy period for many property types, including savings accounts, checking accounts, and certificates of deposit. However, holders must be attentive to distinct timelines for other assets: unpaid wages, utility deposits, and dissolution proceeds become reportable after just 1 year. Securities and dividends carry a 3-year dormancy period, while matured life insurance policies are reportable after 2 years. Notably, Wisconsin exempts gift certificates from reporting. The state also allows for an aggregate limit of $50; items valued under this amount may be reported as a lump sum without detailed owner information.
